Tantrums, Taylor and Two Magazine Features (What a Day!)

3 Things That Actually Happened Today:

I shouted, "You're stressing me out!" at Frankie during a meltdown, as he tried to swap his clean nappy for a dirty one. Parenting low point.
Rafa somehow managed to climb on a chair, open the fridge, and dunk his hand into a jar of mayonnaise. The multitasking skills are strong with this one.
The big win of the day: All three triplets did a wee in their new carry potty. Tomorrow marks the official start of potty training. Send tips, emotional support, and maybe chocolate for me.

But that's not the best part. I'm in two magazines: OK! (this is some achievement because it's largely devoted to speculative stories about royals), and New magazine.

Why does this mean so much to me?

Because in these articles, I’m opening up about Imposter Syndrome, specifically how it hit me hard when I re-entered the "real" world of work after taking time out to have my triplets. Not only is going back to work a mum-guilt trigger but then Imposter Syndrome punches you in the face.

Ironically, in the OK! article I shared some of the blows Imposter Syndrome had cut me down with:

Who are you to say anything on this topic?
No one is going to take you seriously - you've only had a seat at the table for five minutes.
Look how many thousands of likes influencers are getting. You're wasting your time.
No one is going to care what you say.

But guess what? Someone did care. Two someones, in fact. And now my words are in two national magazines.

And you know what? This is just the beginning.

Did you feel Imposter Syndrome when you first got your baby home from hospital. I did to the point I thought they were irresponsible to discharge the babies into my care.

And to those of you who have gone back to work, did you feel Imposter Syndrome when you went back? Was it just in the beginning or does it linger on?

I'd love to know so I can work out how best to help you shake it off, shake it off (like Taylor Swift) and shine.
